Make the most of our Document Translation services
To ensure a smooth document translation process, see our tips below:
- Always send your original document to us for a quote
This means we will be able to assess the technicality and word count in order to send you an accurate quote.
- Submit the final draft of your document
This keeps costs low as edits to the text after delivery usually incur extra charges.
- Send the original text to us in an easily editable format
We prefer Word, PDF or Excel. Photocopies or faxed documents may incur extra charges as it takes time to duplicate the format.
- Be aware of your local style
For your business or creative translation to have the same effect as your original language, make sure that you are aware of your local style. Avoid culture-specific clichés, cultural metaphors and idioms that might not be understood by other languages. If you are concerned about whether your document can hit the market in your new language, SanTranslate’s localization service may help.
- Trust our estimated delivery time
We include a full translation, editing and proofreading service that enables us to thoroughly research the content of your text, and add the final polish.
- Don’t leave your translations to the last minute
If you need a document translated urgently we will try our best to accommodate, but on occasions an urgency charge may apply.
- Send us reference material such as style sheets and branding guides
These are always useful. They will help our translator recreate the tone and style of the original text.
- Maximize value
We have a minimum charge for documents of less than 300 or 400 words (depending on language). Try to group your translations together to maximize value.
- Take advantage of our discounts
We run special offers throughout the year so keep checking back on our website.
For more technical translations, we use the latest translation memory tools to ensure consistency – we can build a word bank to help accelerate the translation process and remember your preferred terms.
And of course, we treat all correspondence and documents in the strictest confidence.
