Multi-lingual typesetting – the touch that makes all the difference

We’ve just completed a piece of work for another translation company who were struggling to typeset the translation work that they had completed.  Not every translation company has these skills in-house but we’re happy to say that SanTranslate does.

Our multi-lingual typesetters can support a wide range of software including that from Adobe, Quark, Microsoft Office and others.  And we understand how to accurately typeset complex languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic.

We’re happy to work alongside other translators to turn their work into a polished final product as well as for direct clients who might have carried out their translation in-house or had their translation work carried out by a supplier who doesn’t do multi-lingual typesetting themselves.

Peugeot and China Changan Automotive Group

We reported earlier this week about the growth in interest in technical translation for the automotive industry fuelled by trends in vehicle manufacture in China.  Today it’s been announced that Peugeot has signed an initial deal with China Changan Automotive Group, currently the fourth-largest car maker in China.  The deal adds to Peugeot’s existing venture with Dongfeng Motor Group through which its production makes up 3.5% of the Chinese market.

It looks as though this trend is going to continue.  And we’re happy to continue to provide technical translation services for any company in the automotive sector and supply chain.

Translation for the automotive industry

We’ve noticed an increased interest in translation for the automotive industry, particularly in relation to China.  When you look at a few statistics, it’s not surprising.

  • In 2009, China produced 13.79 million units, making it the top car producer that year;
  • China has 52 foreign and domestic car makers operating there – the US has 15;
  • Foreign cars account for 85% of the Chinese market;
  • The automotive sector is a key part of the themes for the Shanghai Expo in June 2010.

No wonder then, the companies in the automotive sector and supply chain are looking for more translation services.

Automotive translation requires specialist technical translation expertise and a consistent approach.  We can assure automotive sector clients of the best of both aspects with our specially selected translators and our use of SDL Trados translation memory software to ensure consistent and accurate use of technical terminology.
